Assessor

The Assessor reviews all applications to assure compliance with both Township Ordinances and the Land Division Act 591.

The review fee for the first land division on a given parcel is $115.00 and $25.00 for each additional division. Please submit the appropriate fee(s) made payable to Columbus Township with the application and all required documents to the Township Clerk. The Assessor will review your application in a timely manner.

Land Division Application

The following items are required:

1. Copy of proof of ownership of parent parcel (recorded legal document of conveyance) including legal description;

2. An accurate survey or sketch submitted with application. Show the distance of any existing structures on the parent parcel to the new property line shown by the Surveyor.

3. Final approval will require a copy of survey sketch prepared by a Registered Land Surveyor or Civil Engineer of the proposed split(s) and remainder of parent parcel which includes legal description(s) of splits and new legal for remainder of parent parcel. NOTE: A hand sketch of proposed split is suggested prior to submission of a survey.
