Brockway Township Community Park
The Brockway Township Community
Park is a 40-acre public park that has soccer fields, baseball fields, basket ball
and sand volleyball courts, walking trails, horseshoe pits and a fishing dock allowing
handicap access to Mill Creek. This creek traverses the Township from north to south
and boarders two sides of the park. From its banks, kids of any age can fish or
enjoy the quiet park atmosphere. During the winter months an ice skating rink is
available. The playground at the park is a favorite destination for the youth of
the area. They are able to play on the equipment in a safe surrounding while other
family members participate in sporting activities. Picnic tables, barbecue grills
and park benches also make this a favorite family gathering spot. Future plans for
park development includes a pavilion and concession stand.
Monies for this park were
made available through the county park millage, grants through state and local municipalities
as well as private foundations and many individual contributions. Many volunteers
participated in the on-site construction both the playground area and sports fields
making it truly a community park. The Yale-Brockway Recreation Council operates
several events and sports league throughout the year.
