The Transportation section of the Metropolitan Planning Commission maintains and disseminates traffic count data for locations throughout the county. Agencies that take traffic counts on their roads, such as the Michigan Department of Transportation, St. Clair County Road Commission and local communities all share their counts with the Metropolitan Planning Commission. This information is available in a printed publication, a database, or can be provided to you on the telephone.
If you are interested in viewing this data, purchasing copies of data books, our ‘one stop traffic count shop’ will be able to help you out. Viewing the data is free; there is a nominal fee for copying portions of it or purchasing publications. There is no charge for counts provided over the telephone.
If you would like to view the data or have questions please call the Metropolitan Planning Commission offices at (810) 989-6950 or send us e-mail. You can also stop by our offices, which are located on the second floor of the County Administration Building in downtown Port Huron at 200 Grand River Avenue. Offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call ahead to ensure a staff member will be available to help you.
Be prepared to provide an accurate description of the location or road segments that you would like counts for.
