Solid Waste

A Solid Waste Management Committee, appointed by the County Board of Commissioners, is responsible for developing a plan for managing solid waste within St. Clair County. All solid waste activities within the county (public and private sector) must be included in this five-year management plan. Consideration of proposals for inclusion in the plan must be filed with Committee staff at the offices of the Metropolitan Planning Commission.

This Committee also advises the Board of Commissioners on matters related to implementation and enforcement of the management plan. The Solid Waste Management Committee offices are located in Suite 202 of the County Administration Building, 200 Grand River in the City of Port Huron. Staff can be reached at (810) 989-6950 between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm.

The Solid Waste Management Committee meets as needed.
