Below is a link to a revised copy of the 2007 Amendments to the 2000 Update of the St. Clair County Solid Waste Management Plan as approved by the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners. The purpose of these amendments is to allow for the beneficial addition of septage which is deemed necessary for operation of the Septage Bioreactor Project at Smiths Creek Landfill.
DRAFT - 2007 Amendments to the 2000 Update of the St. Clair County Solid Waste Management Plan
On April 2, 2007, the SWMPC took action to approve the amendments. The St. Clair County Board of Commissioners has likewise reviewed the Plan Amendments and took formal action to approve it at their June 20, 2007 meeting. At this point, before the Plan Amendments may be submitted to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) for their approval, not less than 67%, that is, 22 of St. Clair County’s 32 municipalities shall approve the Plan Amendments.
