WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
The tests as listed are accomplished through the various clinics of the Health Department (STD Clinic, Family Planning Clinic, Preventative Health Services, Environmental Health, Teen Health Center and Algonac Clinic )

SERVICES OFFERED:

Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing Includes:

• Neisseria gonorrhoeae
• Trichomonads
• Chlamydia trachomatis
• Gardnerella vaginalis
• Herpes I and II
• NGU
• Yeast-like fungi

Other Laboratory Tests Include:

• Selected chemistries for intra department support service
• Pregnancy (Serum)
• Syphilis
• Throat - Strep A
• Urinalysis
• Water Testing (Wells, Pools, Spas, Beaches and other  surface waters)

Specimens sent to other sources through the St. Clair County Health Department Laboratory are:

• Tick Identification (Department of Agriculture)
• HIV (Kent County Health Department)
• Hepatitis and other specialized testing (Michigan  Department of Community Health - Lansing)

The laboratory dispenses vaccines in St. Clair County through private providers and through the Health Department's intra department immunization program.
