Children's Special Health Care Services
WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
Children who have a medical condition that is chronic, disabling or terminal. Insurance
coverage can start with birth and last to 21 years of age. Individuals with cystic
fibrosis or clotting disorders like hemophilia may be covered life long.
SERVICES OFFERED:
Medical specialist office or clinic visits, laboratory/diagnostic/x-ray
exams, orthodontics, medical supplies and equipment, home care visits, OT/PT/Speech
therapy, hospital inpatient, outpatient and surgery. Health department staff help
with care coordination including referrals and advocacy.
WHO PAYS:
Funded through the state and federal government. Some families may have a co-pay,
based on income guidelines.
HOURS:
10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Monday by appointment.
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday through Friday by appointment.
