Emergency Advisory Radio System
St. Clair County Office of Emergency Management will soon be operating the Emergency
Advisory Radio System (EARS). EARS is an emergency radio station to specifically
tell area motorist and residents what to do during AMBER alerts, flash floods, industrial
accidents, terror threats, tornados, hazardous material incidents, and other types
of emergencies.
Through the EARS station listeners can receive up-to-the minute reports, alerts,
and instructions with the level of timeliness and detail that make these types of
broadcast invaluable, especially when disaster strikes.
During non-emergency times communities can use the EARS station to inform motorist
of street repairs, public notices, upcoming events, city history or visitor information.
