STRAW AVAILABLE FOR OUTDOOR DOG BEDDING

 

(Port Huron Township)  With the extremely cold temperatures that are forecast to be around for awhile, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division has free straw available for dog houses.

 

“We are asking that if you can, bring your pets inside during the extreme cold,” said Sheriff Tim Donnellon.  “For those that can’t be brought inside, we are offering the free straw to insulate the dog’s houses.”

 

To get straw, all you have to do is show up at the Animal Control Office during normal business hours.  The office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  The office is open from 11:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.  The Animal Control Office is located at 3378 Griswold Road in Port Huron Township.

 

When you pick up your straw, members of the Animal Control staff will also be able to provide you with tips to assist in keeping your pets as warm as possible this winter.
