The Metropolitan Planning Commission maintains maps that identify the approximate location of wetlands throughout the county. We have two sets of wetland maps from two different sources. This includes a set of maps produced by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and another set of wetland maps created by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service. The most detailed map is that developed by the Fish and Wildlife Service.
All of these maps can be viewed at the offices of the Metropolitan Planning Commission Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 in the afternoon. The Metropolitan Planning Commission offices are located on the second floor of the County Administration Building in downtown Port Huron. Please call ahead to make sure a staff person will be available to assist you. Maps are free to view and a nominal fee is charged for copies.
Copies of some of these maps can be ordered over the telephone by calling (810) 989-6950. You can also use the Product List/Order Form found on this web site to place an order. When you call be prepared to provide an address or accurate description of the location you would like wetland maps for.
