The St. Clair County Transportation Study Team (SCCOTS) assists and advises the Metropolitan Planning Commission on the creation of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP includes a three-year schedule of planned improvements to transportation systems including transit, roads and bridges, and transportation enhancement projects (such as beautification or non-motorized facilities).
SCCOTS also assists in the development of a long-range transportation plan for the county. This long-range plan is coordinated with other transportation agencies within the county, region, State and federal highway officials.
The SCCOTS Committee meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 am in the County Administration Building, 200 Grand River in downtown Port Huron.
Information about the County’s Transportation Improvement Program or other helpful transportation related publications of SCCOTS can be obtained by calling SCCOTS’ office at (810) 989-6920. Offices are open from 8 am through 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
