The Metropolitan Planning Commission provides technical assistance to local communities on a wide variety of community planning and land use related matters. Assistance ranges from answering questions and providing advice over the telephone to training sessions held regularly throughout the year. The most common service offered in this area is the review of proposed plans and amendments to plans.
Current State Planning Enabling legislation requires most local units of government in the county to submit proposed master plans and plan amendments to the County for review and consideration. The Metropolitan Planning Commission reviews and comments on these plans placing particular emphasis on consistency with the County plan. Planning News Plans and Plan Maps
