Medical Examiner

MANDATED BY LAW:

The Medical Examiner's office investigate and determines the cause and manner of death of persons who die:

1. Unexpectedly, accidentally or violently
2. As the result of any suspicious circumstances
3. Without medical attendance during the 48 hours preceding death
4. Abortion
5. In the case of any prisoner in custody
6. Less than 24 hours after admission to the hospital
