HEADQUARTERS, SUB-STATIONS OF THE SHERIFF'S MARINE PATROL

The St. Clair County Marine Patrol's headquarters is located at 5793 Pte. Tremble Road (State Hwy. M-29), Pearl Beach (Algonac), Michigan – on the site of the Colony Marine Service Center. It is accessible by water on the St. Clair River’s North Channel near the confluence of the Middle Channel. A sub-station is based at the mouth of the Black River in Port Huron.  During the summer boating season, a patrol boat is also stationed at the Municipal Harbor in the City of St. Clair.

The Marine Patrol strategically moors its patrol vessels so as to provide the best access to the county’s large water area. Three patrol boats are moored at the Pearl Beach area headquarters, two boats are moored on the Black River in Port Huron, and another is moored on the Pine River in St. Clair at the Municipal Harbor. All other vessels are trailered and can be deployed to any location so as to provide selective patrol services.

THE FLEET

To fulfill its mission of law enforcement and public service the Marine Patrol operates the following patrol craft, equipped with law enforcement, firefighting, electronic navigation, electronic surveillance and search and rescue equipment:

• (1) 30 ft. Avanti Center Console with twin 250 HP Mercury Verado OB engines
• (1) 29 ft. Pursuit with twin 250 HP Mercury Verado OB engines
• (1) 26 ft. Boston Whaler, Justice Class, with twin 250 HP Mercury Verado OB engines
• (1) 25 ft. Avanti Center Console with twin 225 HP Mercury Verado OB engines
• (1) 24 ft. Sea Ray Cuddy with twin 225 HP Mercury OB engines
• (1) 17 ft. Grady White with single 135 HP Mercury OB engine
• (1) 14 ft. open utility boat with single 40 HP OB engine
• (2) Honda Turbo Charged Personal Watercraft

The Dive Rescue/Recovery Unit uses:

• (1) 22 ft. Zodiac Hurricane with twin 90 HP Honda OB engines.
• (1) Achilles inflatable with single 40 HP OB motor.
