(On a rotating shift basis): The following are essential functions of the job; the duties listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities or qualifications with the job. CDA Communications Officer Supervisors will need the ability to discern and perform other duties as assigned.
Training: Receives training as follows:
Departmental policies and procedures
Supervision and Administrative matters
Quality Assurance of Dispatch performance
Retention and Release laws regarding dispatch records and tapes
Job Duties:
Ability to perform and meet all qualifications for all Dispatcher I and II duties
Determines work assignments and evaluates performance of personnel
Assists with recruitment of all Dispatch personnel
Ability to train, coordinate, supervise and evaluate subordinates
May be assigned as training coordinator for CDA
Diligently follows up on complaints involving personnel and reports results to Director
Ensures that security of center, training, and other pertaining functions are in compliance.
May be asked to act as a liaison with other agencies using the services of the CDA.
Serves on committees as assigned.
Using discernment, must be able to recommend commendation and/or recognition for exceptional performances to Director
Administer Discipline, not to include termination, when necessary
With decisiveness, must be able to recommend disciplinary action regarding dispatch personnel to Director when necessary.
Ability to access logging recorder for tape requests
Willingness and ability to call in contractors or vendors in the absence of a director in an emergency equipment failure.
May be asked to take on-call duty when an on-duty supervisor or director is absent.
Assist in maintenance of MSAG
Provide statistical data to Director when necessary. |
