GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs a variety of responsible custodial and maintenance of airport buildings, runways and grounds. May provide terminal building operations support. |
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
An employee in this classification is subject to the direct supervision of the Airport Director. |

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to prepare & maintain records and reports.
Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Proven ability to communicate and work well with others including employees, airport users and the public.
Ability to proficiently operate standard airport electronic equipment.
General knowledge of maintenance procedures.

AN EMPLOYEE IN THIS CLASSIFICATION, UPON APPOINTMENT, MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Possession of high school degree or equivalent required.
Three years of maintenance experience in a responsible capacity required.
Experience in airport operations and/or aviation preferred but not required.
Some experience in and knowledge of radio communications and operations helpful but not required.
Maintenance and Operation of heavy equipment required.
Commercial Drivers License, Class B, with X endorsement and air brakes required.
Automated External Defibrillator and CPR Certification required.
Aerial Lift Certification preferred but not required.
Basic fire fighting techniques required. |
TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK: (An employee in this classification may be called upon to perform the following tasks which are illustrative and not exhaustive in nature.)
May assign and provide general oversight of tasks given to other employees.
Perform and schedule all maintenance on heavy and light airport equipment.
Perform and execute all airfield repairs required by the FAA.
Order and inventory all supplies and equipment.
Supervise Community Service efforts.
Maintain and operate in the maintenance budget.
May train subordinate maintenance staff.
Perform FAA mandated Airfield Safety Inspections.
Perform FAA mandated coordinate Foreign Object Debris safety.
Perform FAA mandated safety and security airfield checks.
Perform and execute wildlife control.
Coordinate snow removal operations.
Coordinate turf mowing operations.
Perform building and grounds maintenance.
Recordkeeping, marketing and sales of fueling operation.
Fuel delivery process.
Fuel farm and fuel truck maintenance.
Aircraft towing and storage.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Availability for snow operation and airport emergencies 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Other related duties as may be assigned. |
