GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Court Clerk is responsible for performing clerical and public contact work for a Circuit or Probate Court; for preparing correspondence, legal forms, reports and records; for receiving fees and recording amounts; and for performing related work as required. |
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work is performed under the general supervision of a judge. |

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and of the collection and recording of funds.
Reasonable knowledge of Court procedures and terminology.
Considerable skill and accuracy in performing clerical and related tasks.
Speed, skill and accuracy in typing.
Ability to assemble information, compose and prepare accurate records, legal forms and reports.
Ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously.
Ability to work effectively with other employees. |
AN EMPLOYEE IN THIS CLASSIFICATION, UPON APPOINTMENT, MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited high school, including or supplemented by typing, secretarial and commercial courses.
Reasonable experience in performing responsible clerical work, preferably including contact with legal terminology and court practices. |
