Title: Terminal Attendant II - Airport

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs a variety of responsible clerical, technical and group leadership tasks at the St. Clair County International Airport.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
An employee in this classification is subject to the direct supervision of the Airport Director.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
An employee in this classification may assign work to subordinate Airport Terminal Attendants and maintenance staff as a group leader as directed by the Airport Director. The employee does not exercise supervision within the scope of hiring, disciplining or firing subordinate staff.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.
Proven ability to work well with others.
Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
General knowledge of office procedures.
Ability to proficiently operate office equipment including a personal computer and/or computer terminal.
Ability to operate a personal computer, computer terminal, standard airport electronic equipment, typewriter and /or calculator.
Proven ability to communicate and work well with others including employees, officials, airport users and the public.
Ability to remain claim under pressure.
AN EMPLOYEE IN THIS CLASSIFICATION, UPON APPOINTMENT, MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree in office management or related field preferred.
Three (3) years of clerical experience in a responsible capacity required.
Experience in airport operations and/or aviation preferred but not required.
Some experience in and knowledge of radio communications and operations helpful but not required.
Automated External Defibrillator and CPR Certification required.
Certified weather observer preferred but not required.
TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK: (An employee in this classification may be called upon to perform the following tasks which are illustrative and not exhaustive in nature.)
Prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports.
May assign and provide general oversight of tasks given to other employees.
May prepare and/or transmit payroll information.
Type and maintain correspondence, records and/or reports.
Operate a communication radio to both give and receive information.
Act in a supportive clerical capacity to the Airport Manager.
May train subordinate attendants.
Perform light custodial work such as but limited to cleaning, snow removal and grass cutting.
Conduct airport tours.
Provide an excellence in customer service to general aviation, the general public, tenants and public officials.
Availability for airport emergencies 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Other related duties as may be assigned.
