Vision and Hearing (School/Preschool)

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
St. Clair County infants and children.

SERVICES OFFERED:
Vision screening is provided to preschool children ages 3 to 5 years and in all county school grades 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and in conjunction with driver's education. Hearing screening is provided to preschool children ages 3 to 5 years and in all county school grades kindergarten, 2, and 4. Further testing and follow up is done for all children who cannot pass the initial screening. Special requests for vision and hearing screening can be made at the health department by teachers, doctors and parents. Screening is available for infants and toddlers 0-3 by appointment.

WHO PAYS:
There is no charge for vision and hearing screening for children. There is a small charge for hearing screening for adults.

HOURS:
Appointments can be made at the health department for infants and toddlers, children ages 3 to 5 years, and for other special screening requests during regular business hours when technicians are available.
