Hepatitis A Outbreak: Vaccine/Prevention

At his time we are not experiencing a shortage of the hepatitis A vaccine. If you are interested in receiving the vaccine, you can walk-in on Mondays from 10:00am-6:00pm while supplies last. Appointments are available Tuesday - Friday, call (810) 987-5300 to schedule. Many insurances cover the cost of the vaccine. Those uninsured or underinsured may qualify for reduced cost based on income.

The following offsite hepatitis A vaccine clinics will be from 10:00am - 6:30pm. Offsite clinics are open to all adults aged 18 and older.

  • January 3 – Mussey Township Fire Hall at 550 W. Mill St. in Capac
  • January 10 – Fort Gratiot Township Hall at 3720 Keewahdin Rd. in Fort Gratiot
  • January 11 – Pine Shores Golf Club at 515 Fred W. Moore Hwy. in St. Clair
  • January 17 – McMorran Place in the Memorial Room at 701 McMorran Blvd. in Port Huron

Vaccine is available with no out-of-pocket cost. Please bring insurance if possible. Those attending offsite clinics should bring a completed Hepatitis A Vaccine Form.

To reduce your risk of hepatitis A:

  • Get the hepatitis A vaccine.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of the disease.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Do not prepare food if you are sick.
  • Stay home from work and report illness to your employer.
