Hometown Security Week

How to participate:

St. Clair County Residents:
Elementary Schools:
  • Participate in the “Disaster supply kit contest” and “Coloring contest.”
  • Inform students of Hometown Security Day at Birchwood Mall.
Churches:
  • Include information about Hometown Security week in your bulletins.
  • Recognize first responders during your services.
Businesses:
  • Prepare a business continuity plan to prepare your business for a disaster. Information can be found at www.ready.gov
  • Contact the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to request preparedness literature to distribute to your customers and employees.
First response agencies:
  • Submit a picture of your team to the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for recognition during Hometown Security week. If a picture is not available, a roster can be submitted instead.
  • Contact the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to attend Hometown Security Day at Birchwood Mall as a participating agency.
Local government officials:
  • Contact the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to receive disaster preparedness information to distribute to your residents.
