Citizen Corps of St. Clair County
Uniting Communities - Preparing the Nation
Citizen Corps Mission: To have everyone participate in making America safer,
stronger, and better prepared for preventing and handling threats of natural
disasters, terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds.
As a high-risk community, it is essential
that our level of preparedness also remains at a high level in St. Clair County.
To help meet this challenge, the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners appointed
a Citizen Corps council for our county. Every citizen can participate through:
-
Personal Responsibility - Having
disaster plans and disaster supply kits for you and your family. Understanding crime
prevention and reporting. Taking care of your neighbors.
-
Training - Participate in training
opportunities Citizen Corps offers. Learn the biggest threats in St. Clair County
and how to prepare for them. Learn how to perform basic first aid procedures for
yourself and others.
-
Volunteering Service - Support police, fire, EMS, and other first responders
of our community. Support the Citizen Corps Council in spreading its mission
