St. Clair County 72nd District Court

The court that most people have contact with is the district court. It is sometimes known as the "people court."

The 72nd District Court handles traffic violations, criminal general civil, and landlord/tenant cases in St. Clair County. In addition, small claims cases are heard by a division of the district court.

The 72nd District Court is dedicated to protecting rights, dispensing equal justice in all matters, and providing the highest quality of professional services in a prompt and polite manner recognizing and respecting the dignity of each person served by the courts.

The St. Clair County Courthouse, which houses the main offices of the Circuit, District and Probate Courts, and the Marine City Offices of the District Court, are open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
