County Clerk
The County Clerk is responsible for all vital statistic records: births, deaths,
and marriages. Birth and Death Certificates date back to 1868 while marriages date back
to 1839. The Clerk also acts as an acceptance agent for passport applications;
issues concealed weapons licenses; and maintains all Circuit Court records. The
County Clerk is also responsible for operating and canvassing all countywide elections.
This is the site you'll come to when you want to get an application for a birth
record, application for a copy of any other record or passport application form. Assumed
name forms are not available on-line because they are triplicate copies. Assumed
name forms may be picked up in the office or can be mailed to you.
The County Clerk's Office hours are 8:00 to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. We do not close for lunch hour. Copies from court files is $1.00 per page. Copies of vital
records is $10.00 for the first copy, $5.00 for each additional copy of the same
record.
