County Clerk
The County Clerk is responsible for all vital statistic records: births, deaths,
and marriages. Birth and Death Certificates date back to 1868 while marriages date back
to 1839. The Clerk also issues concealed weapons licenses; and maintains all Circuit Court records. The
County Clerk is also responsible for operating and canvassing all countywide elections.
This is the site
you'll come to when you want to get an application for a birth record or
application for a copy of any other record. Assumed
name forms are not available on-line because they are triplicate copies. Assumed
name forms may be picked up in the office or can be mailed to you.
NOTE: As of May 1, 2011 the County Clerk is no longer able to process
passports. Applications can now be submitted to the County Treasurer's Office.

Copies from court files is $1.00 per page. Copies of vital records is $10.00 for
the first copy, $5.00 for each additional copy of the same record.
