County Clerk

The County Clerk is responsible for all vital statistic records: births, deaths, and marriages. Birth and Death Certificates date back to 1868 while marriages date back to 1839. The Clerk also issues concealed pistol licenses; and maintains all Circuit Court records. The County Clerk is also responsible for operating and canvassing all countywide elections.

Copies from court files is $1.00 per page. Copies of vital records is $10.00 for the first copy, $5.00 for each additional copy of the same record.

NOTE: As of May 1, 2011 the County Clerk is no longer able to process passports. Applications can now be submitted to the County Treasurer's Office.  For an apointment please click here.
